Holiday Cottage is a Grade II listed self catering cottage offering plenty of traditional character and charm, steeped in history, with the benefits of having been fully refurbished to a very high standard.


The spacious ground floor accommodation offers a lovely, cosy cottage sitting room with log burning fire, perfect for curling up beside in the cooler evenings after exploring the North York Moors National Park and surrounding areas.



There is a  new fully fitted kitchen, with all the modern  appliances to help make your stay comfortable and homely, including a washing machine, dish-washer, micro-wave and even a slow cooker.  The kitchen opens out into a  spacious dining area and sun room, with French doors leading to an outside seating area and patio, with lovely views down the private walled gardens.



A perfect sun spot to relax with a book and glass of wine. There is private secure parking at the rear of the cottage, so you can enjoy an amble through the private garden, when returning at the end of a day out, and you don’t need to worry about finding a parking space.

Andy and Emma are keen cyclists & walkers and can provide information about routes in the area, for all abilities. Dalby Forest is the home to many road, track and off road cycle routes and is famous for its mountain biking in particular.

The generously proportioned bedroom is on the first floor, with a King-size bed, & vaulted ceiling, and is light and airy. There is an en-suite bathroom which is also fully refurbished and benefits from a bath and power shower over the bath.

Pickering is a great place to stay especially for those who enjoy walking and cycling. Dalby Forest is just a short drive away and has over 70 km of cycle & walking trails from the very beginners to the challenging runs that were used for the World Cup mountain bike trails. The “Tour de Yorkshire” has travelled through the town. This is the largest forest in the North York Moors area, where there’s some excellent walks and nature trails. Eden House benefits from secure storage for bicycles, so you can bring them with you or hire bikes locally.

Pickering is a very popular, busy  market town with many attractions locally making it a great base for a holiday. There is easy access to the North York Moors, the NYM Steam Railway, Dalby Forest, lots of pretty Moors villages and towns, and the coast is just a short drive to  Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, and Scarborough. Pickering  even has it’s own Castle and Beck Isle Museum, and hosts many events throughout the year, including the 1940’s War Time Weekend in October.

There are lots of quaint villages within a short drive such as Thornton le Dale, Hutton-le-Hole, Rosedale, Kirbymoorside, Malton and Helmsley where you will find plenty of individual shops, cafes, traditional pubs serving great food, galleries museums, and historic buildings

Also within easy access of Eden House Self Catering Holiday Cottage are many historic Houses, Abbeys and Museums. Castle Howard is one of the UK’s finest Stately Homes and is just a 20 minute drive from Pickering, you can spend a day there wandering around the stunning house and gardens. Within easy access is also Eden Camp Museum, Duncombe Park with it’s Bird of Prey Centre, Beck Isle Museum in Pickering, and Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole.
